"Wildlife"

Surrounding the temple is a Shinji-ike reflection pond containing hundreds of koi. The koi in these ponds can live to be over 100 years old and are very large. Fish food may be purchased in our Gift Shop.

The temple grounds are also home to peacocks, black swans, turtles, frogs, and other animals. The peacocks are wild and come and go as they please so they will not always be at the temple.
